Red Sox OF Andrew Benintendi Wins Rookie Of The Month For August
BOSTON (CBS) – Rookie outfielder Andrew Benintendi was named the American League Rookie of the Month for August, the first Red Sox player to win the honor since 2013.
Benintendi has hit .339 for the month with seven home runs, five doubles, and 20 RBI since August 1.
So far this season, he leads all rookies with 18 steals and 133 hits.
Jose Iglesias was the last Red Sox player to win Rookie of the Month. Jacoby Ellsbury won the award in 2007.
