MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire police department says a 2-year-old boy was taken to a Boston hospital with serious multiple injuries after being hit by a car that was being backed out of a garage.

Manchester police say the child was unresponsive when he arrived at the Elliot Hospital just after 9 a.m. Saturday.

A preliminary investigation found that the car with a single female operator was backing out of a garage on Dwight Street when it hit the child.

The identity of the child and the driver has not been released.

The crash remains under investigation.
