NightSide - An Update on the Paris Accord

BOSTON (CBS) - The Paris Climate Accord is an agreement between 195 countries that was signed in 2015. Each nation that signed the deal submitted an individual plan to meet certain emission standards, with specific goals over the next ten years. Part of the purpose of the agreement was so nations would encourage each other to increase their efforts to reduce greenhouse emissions over the next decade. It is being reported that President Trump is planning on withdrawing the United States from the agreement, much to the dismay of most of the rest of the world. Tonight, Dan will talk with David Cash, Dean of the McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies at UMass Boston, and Katie Tubb, Policy Analyst at the Heritage Foundation, about what withdrawing from the agreement would mean for the U.S.

Originally broadcast May 31st, 2017.
