What’s Up This Weekend: Flag Garden, Music Festival, Sharks!

BOSTON (CBS) – A three day music festival, free admission to the Museum of Fine Arts, and an impressive patriotic sight to behold, are just some of the highlights around Boston this holiday weekend.

BOSTON CALLING

This year’s lineup of nearly 50 acts includes Tool, Mumford & Sons, Chance the Rapper, Weezer, Solange, Buffalo Tom and more. LINEUP AND TICKETS: bostoncalling.com

FREE MFA
In honor of Memorial Day, the Museum of Fine Arts will have free admission on Monday. Take in all of the museum’s masterpieces, including special exhibits featuring the works of Henri Matisse, Sandro Botticelli and Claude Monet. There is also an exhibit featuring the art of the beloved book Make Way for Ducklings. INFO: mfa.org

GARDEN OF FLAGS
There may be no more breathtaking site this weekend than the Flag Garden that gets planted on Boston Common. Leading up to each Memorial Day, hundreds of volunteers spend hours setting up 37,000 small flags. Each flag represents a Massachusetts service member who gave his or her life defending our country. SCIENCE OF SHARKS
A long weekend away from school doesn’t have to mean the learning stops – especially if it’s made fun. The Science of Sharks exhibit at the New England Aquarium opened in April. A new shark tank, touch tank, and huge video screens of underwater imagery are just some of the highlights. MORE INFO: neaq.org

DINO LAND
From Sharks to Dinosaurs… Dino Land is now open at Edaville. Dino loving kids can tour their way through a couple dozen life-sized, animatronic dinosaurs and meet real paleontologitsts. INFO: edaville.com
