Aaron Hernandez Brother Releases Cryptic Statement About 'Aaron's Truth'

BOSTON (CBS) -- The older brother of Aaron Hernandez is thanking the people who supported him and his mother after the ex-NFL star's suicide.  He also referred to a story he said Aaron wanted them to "share with the world."

"From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank everyone who has supported my mother and me during such difficult times," Jonathan "D.J." Hernandez wrote in a brief statement.

"My younger brother Aaron was far from perfect, but I will always love him," Hernandez said.

"Many stories about my brother's life have been shared with the public - except the story Aaron was brave enough to share with our mother and me. It's the one story he wanted us to share with the world. It is Aaron's truth."

His statement did not elaborate what on that story was.

Aaron Hernandez killed himself in his cell at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Facility in Shirley last month, just days after he was acquitted in the murder of two men in Boston's Back Bay in 2012.

He was also convicted in the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd, but that conviction was overturned after his death.
