Two Women Killed In Route 44 Crash In Plymouth

PLYMOUTH (CBS) -- Two women in their 20s were killed in a single-car crash in Plymouth Wednesday night, Massachusetts State Police said.

The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. on Route 44 near the Cherry Street ramp in Plymouth.

State Police said the driver lost control of her Jeep Wrangler, and that it crossed the grass median and went into the westbound lane, rolling over on the ramp.

The victims have been identified as Kristina McCarthy, 26, of Kingston, and Montana Hurley, 20, of Sagamore Beach.

Hurley was pronounced dead at the scene. McCarthy was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Plymouth, and later died from her injuries.

The crash scene was cleared by 1 a.m.

The cause of the crash is not yet known.
