What's Up This Weekend: Kite Festival, Beer Festival, Pirate Tours

BOSTON (CBS) - Kites will be flying high over Revere Beach, restaurants are offering deals on Cape Cod, and there is special free museum admission for military families. Check out some of the best bets for this weekend.

KITE FESTIVAL
It's a bird! It's a plane! It's – kites! The annual Revere Beach Kite Festival takes over the skies on Sunday. Kids can build, decorate and fly their own kites. The first 300 kids get a free kite to decorate. There will also be professional kite flyers showing off larger kites. It takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. across from Kelly's Roast Beef. CAPE COD RESTAURANT WEEK
These are the final few days of Cape Cod Restaurant Week. You can fixed price meal deals at dozens of favorite local dining spots. Participating restaurants are offering three and four course menus for $25-$35 dollars. Restrictions vary by venue. MORE INFO: capecodrestaurantweek.com

MILITARY MAY
All month long, active duty military members and their families can get free admission to the Museum of Science. With a valid military ID, you can get up to four admissions to the exhibit halls. HARPOONFEST
Enjoy local beer, live music and food trucks at the annual Harpoonfest this Friday night and Saturday. It's first come, first served at the Harpoon Brewery near the South Boston waterfront. PIRATE TOUR
Ahoy Mateys! Pirate ship tours of Boston Harbor relaunch this weekend courtesy of Massachusetts Bay Lines. "Think treasure, pirates and cannons… history comes alive when the captain commands crew to action, climbing aloft, hoisting square sails, bracing yardarms and firing the cannon." ROLLER DERBY
It's a Roller Derby doubleheader at the Shriners Auditorium in Wilmington on Saturday. At 5 p.m. the Wicked Pissahs take on the Cosmonaughties, followed by the Nutcrackers vs. Harbor Horrors at 7.
