Phantom Gourmet: The Tipsy Toboggan In Fall River

FALL RIVER (CBS) -- A roaring fire, hand-made wooden furniture, and plenty of soul satisfying food.

The Tipsy Toboggan could be the perfect spot after a day on the slopes. Decorated with skis and sleds and snow shoes, it's got everything a cozy mountain side chalet needs, except for one thing: a mountain.

"It's a ski lodge bar and restaurant in Fall River Mass," says owner Michael Lund.

The only skiing you'll see around here is on the TV, because The Tipsy Toboggan is nowhere near a mountain top. Lund is an avid skier who wanted to give everyone a chance to experience the best part of a ski trip, without actually having to strap on skis.

"What they like most about going up North and skiing for the weekend was after a long day, being in the bar, being by the fire, and hanging out," Lund said. "So we tried to recapture that."

The food is hearty and filling, with dishes like Buffalo chicken dip, creamy mac and cheese, and big old burgers--while the building's atmosphere really does make you feel like you're dining by the mountain side.

"There were some natural characteristics of it that kind of went with the theme," Lund said. "It had the brick walls, it had the overhead beams, and it had that quaint feeling."

At the center of it all is The Tipsy Toboggan's enormous woodburning fireplace--and these really are the hottest seats in the house. Literally.

"It's obviously the most popular," Lund said. "People want to sit by the open fire, and it's really the kind of the focal point, and the layout of the restaurant is, wherever you are in the restaurant, you can see the fire. And based on feedback from customers, their one comment always is they feel cozy. And I think we've been able to capture that warm feeling that you go after a long day."
