Gov. Baker Will Lead Mass. Trade Delegation To Israel

BOSTON (AP) — Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker is about to embark on the first international trade mission of his administration.

The Republican will lead a delegation of government and business officials on a six-day trip to Israel. They're scheduled to leave on Thursday. The visit is expected to focus on pitching Massachusetts as a potential site for Israeli cybersecurity and digital health firms considering an expansion into the U.S.

The governor's office is anticipated to disclose more details on the itinerary in the coming days.

A number of Israeli-led technology companies have already established operations in the Bay State.

Baker's predecessor, former Democratic Gov. Deval Patrick, participated in two trade missions to Israel during his eight years in office.
