Report: Patriots May Take On Raiders In Mexico City In 2017

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Patriots may be heading south of the border in 2017.

The NFL is looking to have another game in Mexico City following the success of last week's Raiders-Texans game. According to ESPN's John Sutcliffe, the league may tab the Patriots to face off against the Raiders the next time they take their game to Estadio Azteca. Sutcliffe also mentioned during Monday night's ESPN Deportes broadcast of the Packers-Eagles game that Patriots owner Robert Kraft is interested in the possibility of playing in Mexico City.

While we don't know what the Patriots' 2017 schedule is just yet, we do know their list of opponents. The Raiders just so happen to be on that list.

The Patriots are no strangers to international games, either, with a pair of games in London over the last decade. They first played at Wembley Stadium in 2009, beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 35-7, before returning in 2012 to hand the then-St. Louis Rams a 45-7 loss. The Pats were scheduled to play a preseason game in China in 2007, but that game was ultimately cancelled by the NFL.
