Man Who Claims Aaron Hernandez Shot Him In The Face Sues CNN

BOSTON (CBS) -- A man who claims convicted murderer and former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez shot him in the eye in Florida is now suing CNN for showing images of him taken while he was recovering from that shooting.

The Hartford Courant reports that Alexander Bradley, a former friend of Hernandez, is suing the network for showing the images in a special report that aired in 2015. In the lawsuit, Bradley said airing the images was an invasion of his privacy.

Bradley claims that, after an argument outside a Florida strip club in February 2013, Hernandez shot him between the eyes. He said Hernandez then left him in an industrial park.

Hernandez was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison in the 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd. He now faces trial in February in the shooting deaths of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado in Boston's South End.

Prosecutors in that case have said Bradley was with Hernandez when he opened fire on de Abreu and Furtado; they say Hernandez shot Bradley in the eye because Bradley later confronted him about that double murder.

Bradley filed a witness intimidation lawsuit against Hernandez in 2015, but the matter was settled outside of court.
