Solomon Hill Posterizes Marcus Smart, Who Draws An Offensive Foul

By Matthew Geagan, CBS Boston

BOSTON (CBS) -- Solomon Hill thought he had himself a highlight dunk against the Boston Celtics on Monday night.

The Pelicans forward channeled his inner Olympian and took flight over Marcus Smart in the second quarter, looking destined for a poster (for those few fans who would actually buy a Solomon Hill poster for their wall). But Smart, as he has a reputation for doing, set up to draw a charge as Hill hurdled him and threw down the emphatic jam.

The whistle blew after the C's guard hit the floor. No dunk for Hill, no basket for the Pelicans. Just another one of those questionable charges drawn by Smart, who may or may not have actually been touched as Hill soared through the air:

Maybe there was a little, tiny bit of contact that sent Smart to the ground, but it looks more like one of those famous Smart tumbles, known more commonly as a "flop." Just another entry for the guard's ever-growing mix tape.

Smart seemed pretty pleased with himself after Hill's teammates broke the news to him:

Love him or hate him, that is Marcus Smart in a nutshell. He had a solid night overall on Monday, hitting six of his 12 shots from the floor (including three of his six bids from three-point range) to finish with 15 points in 37 minutes. He also had six rebounds on the night, including several key boards as the Celtics clawed their way back in the second half.

But Hill and the Pelicans ultimately had the last laugh, notching just their second win of the season with a 106-105 victory. We'll see if the league takes exception with Smart's acting performance, as he was hit with a $5,000 fine for flopping last postseason.
