Clinton Rallies In Manchester, NH, In Run-Up To Election Day
MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS/AP) — Hillary Clinton tapped some well known names for her stop in New Hampshire.
Singer-songwriter James Taylor joined the Democratic presidential nominee at a rally Sunday evening at a Manchester hotel.
"I mean they threw everything at her they can think of, but they can't keep her back, they can't keep her back, we need her so bad right now," Taylor told the crowd.
Taylor is the latest celebrity to help Clinton after Beyoncé and her husband Jay Z headlined a rally in Cleveland on Friday.
Khizr Khan, the Gold Star father of slain U.S. Army Capt. Humayun Khan, introduced Clinton. He echoed the emotional speech he gave at the Democratic National Convention when he attacked Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's immigration policies.
"Would anyone who isn't like have a place in your America Donald Trump? Well thankfully Mr. Trump, this isn't your America," Khan said.
Clinton also took shots at Trump.
"My opponent has a very dark and divisive view of our country, sometimes when I hear him speak, I honestly don't recognize the country that he is talking about," Clinton said. "Sometimes I don't think he recognizes the country he's talking about."
New Hampshire is hotly contested and both Clinton and Trump want to claim the state's four electoral votes.
Clinton's New Hampshire stop comes hours after a letter by FBI director James Comey to congressional leaders stated the latest emails found by the candidate do not warrant criminal prosecution.
Some Clinton supporters at the rally were relieved by the news while say their confidence was never shaken.
"I was not worried about it," one supporter said. "She has taken the appropriate action, she's taken responsibility, admitted she made a mistake."
Clinton did not address the FBI's communication or her emails during Sunday night's speech.
Trump and his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, are holding a rally Monday at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester.
