Comcast Is Adding Netflix To X1 Cable Boxes Next Week

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS) – Switching between Netflix and live TV is about to get a lot easier for Comcast subscribers.

The cable company announced that starting next week, Netflix will be available on Comcast's X1 devices.

"The Netflix integration into the X1 platform means our mutual customers will no longer need to change inputs or juggle remotes," said Netflix CEO Reed Hastings in a statement.

To launch the streaming app, all customers have to do is say "Netflix" into the X1 voice remote.

Netflix and Comcast had spent years arguing over how much they should each pay before a deal was reached.

Comcast isn't the first cable TV provider to add Netflix, but this news could help Netflix land millions more subscribers. Comcast subscribers without Netflix will be able to sign up for a membership directly on X1 and have it added to their cable bill.
