Man Struck, Killed While Crossing Street In Quincy

QUINCY (CBS) -- A man was struck and killed by an SUV while trying to cross a street outside of the crosswalk late Sunday night.

Quincy Police said the man was hit around 10:36 p.m. at the intersection of Hancock and East Squantum Streets.

He was rushed to Boston Medical Center with serious head trauma and died early Monday morning.

Police said the driver, a 32-year-old woman driving a grey Acura SUV, did stop at the scene.

They said there was no indication that she was speeding or impaired when she hit the man.

An investigation found he did not use the walk signal or walk in the crosswalk while crossing the street.

Police also said he was wearing dark clothing in the rain, when visibility was low.

They have asked the public for help identifying the man, because they're having trouble locating his family.

He's described as Asian, between 40 and 60 years old.

Anyone with information should call Quincy Police.
