WATCH: Tom Brady Abruptly Ends Press Conference When Asked About Donald Trump's 'Locker Room Talk'

BOSTON (CBS) -- Reporters in Foxboro got their first chance of the 2016 season to talk to Tom Brady at his weekly press conference on Wednesday, and the Patriots quarterback spoke at length about his newest teammates, his upcoming opponent, his throwing mechanics and much more.

One topic Brady did not care to discuss was Donald Trump and the presidential candidate's idea of "locker room talk."

Brady, who said last year that he considers Trump to be a friend, was asked by a reporter how he'd react if own children heard the "locker room talk," through which Trump in 2005 said that he liked to kiss and grope women without asking for permission.

Brady abruptly ended his press conference.

"Thank you, guys," Brady told the assembled media members. "Have a good day."

Brady's relationship with Trump came to light last season, when reporters noticed a red "Make America Great Again" hat sitting in the quarterback's locker. At that time, Trump was one of a number of potential presidential nominees and had not secured the Republican party's nomination.

Brady said the hat could end up being a "nice keepsake," and that he was hoping his friend might one day occupy the White House.

"I hope so. That would be great. There'd be a putting green on the White House lawn, I'm sure of that," Brady said.

Around the same time last year, Trump described Brady as "really a very good friend of mine."
