Patriots-Bills Week 4 Predictions

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Patriots play their final game without quarterback Tom Brady on Sunday, as they welcome the Buffalo Bills to Gillette Stadium.

Will the Pats go 4-0 without Brady under center? The CBS Boston sports team is certainly a confident bunch heading into Sunday's matchup:

Steve Burton, WBZ-TV Sports

Rex Ryan is always saying, "If the Patriots didn't have Brady... If the Patriots didn't have Brady...". Well, guess what. Be careful what you wish for, Rex.

Ryan and his Buffalo Bills will take on the Pats without Tom Brady this Sunday at Gillette Stadium, and they'll still probably get beat. Jimmy G or Jacoby Brissett -- does it really matter who gets the start?

The Pats are 13-1 against the Bills at Gillette. Enough said!

I will keep this one short and sweet. The Pats are on the brink of doing something few thought would happen: Sweep the Tom Brady-less games.

This was the game I thought Garoppolo initially would have a hiccup. Rex Ryan always gives Brady problems, I felt he would do the same for Jimmy.

That's also why I feel Garoppolo is going to play. For him to prove himself, he needs to come back from this injury and beat one of the better defensive minds in the game.

I think the game will be close, but the Pats will get the victory and move to 4-0 on the season.

We saw what the Patriots' last divisional opponent (Miami) did two weeks ago, but the Patriots are coming off an extended break, at home and, yes, Jimmy G. will be starting. Bottom line, don't bet against Belichick.

Matt Dolloff, CBS Boston Sports

I felt this would be a "trap game" for the Patriots if the Bills were coming in 0-3. With the Bills coming off a win, they will be a typically over-confident, sloppily executed unit at Gillette on Sunday. But Rex Ryan's defense will still give the Patriots offense a little trouble, as he has done in the past, and Buffalo will keep the game tight before the Patriots pull away a bit in the end.

Patriots 23, Bills 16

Adam Kaufman, 98.5 The Sports Hub/WBZ NewsRadio 1030

Normally I'd ramble on a bit here, but I honestly think the Patriots would beat the Bills in Foxborough even with Julian Edelman at quarterback, and we know that's not where he'll be lining up. Rex Ryan's lost 7 of 11 against Bill Belichick and the Bills have dropped 28 of 31 to the Pats since 2000. It's wrong to take any teams or games for granted, but here we are. A tanned Tom Brady will be returning rested, angry, and with a 4-0 team waiting for him.

Patriots 24, Bills 10

Rob "Hardy" Poole, 98.5 The Sports Hub

Buffalo, as we know, is featured prominently in the Willie Nelson song, "Me And Paul." The only Paul that I have any regular communication with is Paul Perillo of Patriots Football Weekly. So I defer to his pick for this week's game.

We were unable to locate a copy of "PFW" to obtain Peul Perillo's official prediction. So we will assume he picked the Patriots to win 2-0.

Dan Roche, WBZ-TV Sports

With the QB health situation up in the air and the return of Tom Brady looming, this appears to be a possible "trap game" for the Patriots. However, you have to think the confidence of the rest of the Pats can only be growing. The defense is coming off its best showing of the year vs. Houston and should continue to build off of that against Taylor and company. If Jimmy G plays the Pats may roll.
