Manhunt Underway For Hanson Home Invasion Suspect

HANSON (CBS) – The search continues for one of four suspects involved in a home invasion.

Police say four men broke into a home Thursday morning. When police arrived, the suspects ran. One of the men dropped a safe in the front yard as they ran out.

Two suspects in a home invasion were arrested, one of whom had a gun. An additional suspect was arrested later in the afternoon. Police have released a surveillance image of the final suspect that remains at large.

"We are looking at it as a B&E [breaking and entering] ring, so to speak, seeing as there's been some house break-ins reported in Pembroke, just over the line," according to Hanson Police.

Neighbors told WBZ-TV they are concerned for their safety.

"Yeah, just a little bit concerned, especially when you see cops with rifles," one neighbor said.

Whitman-Hanson Regional School District officials placed Maquan School, Indian Head School, and Hanson Middle School into shelter in place mode while police were searching the area. Pembroke High School also imposed a shelter in place order for its students and staff.

There was no direct threat to the schools and the shelter in place order was made as a precaution.
