MARSHFIELD (CBS) – A man and his son are both under arrest after allegedly breaking into a Marshfield ATM.

Early Saturday morning, a resident reported seeing a man with a drill trying to get into the ATM, so he called the police. The suspect had allegedly also used a blow torch.

A police K-9 unit found the suspect, 33-year-old Ken Dexter III in the bushes nearby.

Police said they found burglary tools and a two-way radio in his backpack.

On the other end of the radio? Police say that was Ken Dexter Jr., Dexter III's father, in a nearby car. He was later arrested.

Marshfield Police say he had 44 prior arraignments for similar charges, and convictions in two other states.

"A task force is being formed now because there are dozens of these crimes around the state and neighboring states we feel it's possible they could be responsible for," police said.

Dexter Jr. is being held on high bail because of his history committing similar crimes.
