Rex Ryan Had Patriots On His Mind Immediately After Bills First Win Of Season

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Buffalo Bills won their first game of the season on Sunday, and just moments after their 33-18 victory over the Arizona Cardinals, Rex Ryan already had the New England Patriots on his mind.

Then again, when aren't the Patriots on Rex's mind?

The 3-0 Patriots still don't know who will be under center when they host the 1-2 Bills at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, but as long as it isn't Tom Brady (who will sit out the final game of his four-game suspension), Ryan is feeling great about his team's chances.

"I can sit back and say I don't care who plays quarterback, because Brady ain't," Ryan told reporters. "I don't care who plays quarterback. Steve Grogan can play quarterback. If [Bill] Belichick's playing quarterback, we're coming after him, I promise you that."

Jimmy Garoppolo missed New England's Week 3 win over the Houston Texans with a AC joint sprain in his shoulder, and rookie Jacoby Brissett suffered a thumb injury in the win. While discussing his own quarterback, the mobile Tyrod Taylor, Ryan threw out another potential quarterback for New England that his Bills will be ready for come Sunday.

"I know how difficult it is to defend against a running quarterback," said Ryan. "We have to be ready in case [Julian] Edelman is at quarterback, right? I have a funny feeling he isn't going to be Brady back there."

Ryan spouting off about the Patriots is nothing new, with his AFC East rivals often on his mind. While Ryan does own a postseason victory over the Patriots, he is 3-11 against New England during the regular season. He went 0-2 against the Patriots last year in his first season as head coach of the Buffalo Bills.

But if Sunday was any preview, it's going to be a week filled with Rex Ryan soundbites leading up to Sunday's showdown in Foxboro.
