Plymouth South Forfeits Football Game Due To 'Inappropriate Behavior'

PLYMOUTH (CBS) – Officials at Plymouth South High School canceled the varsity and junior varsity football games scheduled for this weekend over what is only being described as "inappropriate behavior" at a non-school event.

The school forfeited Friday night's varsity game and the JV game scheduled for Saturday against Hanover High School due to an incident at an event sponsored by team parents.

Superintendent of Schools Gary Maestas said the incident did not involve drugs or alcohol.

"The administration at Plymouth South believes that the forfeiture of this game is part of a learning process for our student athletes and is apologetic to Hanover High School for this inconvenience," said Maestas.

Maestas said the school's administration met with parents and athletes regarding the situation.
