Driver Facing Charges After Traffic Officer Struck In Lexington

LEXINGTON (CBS) --  A Belmont man is facing drunk driving charges after hitting a civilian traffic officer who was working a night detail in a construction zone.

Police say Sean McKeown was travelling at a slow speed on Follen Road and Pleasant Street in Lexington Thursday night when he struck the officer. McKeown stopped the car and remained at the scene.

The traffic officer, Frank San Severino, was taken to Lahey Clinic in Burlington with a broken ankle.

McKeown is facing multiple OUI charges. He is due in court on Friday.
