Fantasy Football Advice With Dave Richard: Week 3 Injury Replacements For Key Players

BOSTON (CBS) -- It's only Week 3 and the NFL has already seen several talented, high-profile players go down with serious injuries. After Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen went down with a torn ACL in Week 1, Vikings All-Pro running back Adrian Peterson injured his MCL and will be out at least a few weeks.

Fantasy football guru Dave Richard joined 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich Thursday to give his advice for Week 3 and highly recommended snapping up Peterson's backup, Jerick McKinnon, if he's still available. Fortunately for Fred Toucher, he already had him on his roster.

When asked about sleeper tight end pickups for Week 3, Richard recommended the Ravens' Dennis Pitta.

"I think [Pitta's] got some staying power for the next few weeks," said Richard. "Twelve targets last week, nine catches, over 100 yards ... [It's] rare for Pitta to play that well, but he's going to continue to be a factor because the Ravens can't run the ball." Richard also recommended the Falcons' Jacob Tamme and his good matchup against New Orleans.

On the Seattle Seahawks' poor offensive start to the season, Richard thinks it's an issue for fantasy owners right now but won't be this bad for much longer.

The biggest problem Seattle has is that their offensive line is terrible right now. They're missing their starting right guard; when he comes back, maybe things will improve. ... I actually like the idea of trying to trade for Russell Wilson as a buy low candidate. They've got their bye coming up in week 5 - that's probably when they will retool everything on that offensive line. Tom Cable's a good O-line coach there, he'll get things fixed. Russell Wilson's ankle will have a week to heal. I think coming out of that bye in Week 6 when they play against Atlanta at home, you'll see the Seahawks offense that you saw late last season.

Richard also fielded calls and made some sleeper wide receiver recommendations. Listen to the full call with Dave Richard below:
