Brockton Boy Hit By Car Remains In Coma

BROCKTON (CBS) – A young boy who was hit by a car in Brockton Tuesday night remains in a coma, his father said Thursday.

Two-year-old Neyden Tavares was hit by a car on Market Street, not far from his home, when he apparently ran out into the road.

Leonel Tavares, the boy's father, said Neyden is still in critical condition at Mass General Hospital.

Neyden had procedures done to treat brain injuries. He may remain in a medically induced coma for several days, Leonel Tavares said.

The driver involved in the crash stopped at the scene and has been cooperating in the police investigation.
