Police Search For Driver Who Dragged Worcester Woman

WORCESTER (CBS) – Police are looking for the driver of a pickup truck that dragged and seriously injured a woman in Worcester.

Around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday officers found a 31-year-old woman lying in the middle of High Street.

She was transported to an area hospital with a broken ankle, collapsed lung, and minor brain bleeding. The woman is in stable condition.

Worcester Police said their investigation shows the woman was talking to the driver of a black pickup truck in the BP gas station on Chandler Street.

The driver then sped off with the woman holding onto the driver's side window.

Police say the black truck continued at a high rate of speed up High Street, where the woman fell off the truck into the middle of the street. The driver has not been located.

Surveillance camera from the area captured photos of the pickup truck.

Anyone with information is asked to call Worcester Police.
