Teen Struck, Killed By Commuter Rail Train In Newton

NEWTON (CBS) – A teenager was struck and killed by a Commuter Rail train in Newton Friday night.

Transit Police say the 14-year-old boy from Newton was near the West Newton off-ramp in Newtonville when he was hit by an inbound Framingham/Worcester train at about 8:45 p.m.

The Middlesex District Attorney's Office is investigating the incident, but foul play is not suspected.

The area where this happened is often used as a cut through, although Transit Police would only say the teenager was trespassing.

His name has not been released.

There were significant delays on the Framingham/Worcester line Friday night and passengers were transported by bus between Wellesley Farms & Newtonville stations.
