Fantasy Football Injury Replacements For Week 2 From Dave Richard

BOSTON (CBS) -- Fantasy football season is in full swing, which means some lucky owners are already dealing with injuries to some key players on their roster.

Chargers No. 1 receiver Keenan Allen is already on the IR, which CBS Sports fantasy football expert Dave Richard called a "stab to the chest for fantasy owners" who drafted him in the first three rounds. But fear not, he has some replacement options for Philip Rivers -- and more importantly -- your fantasy team.

Richard joined 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich on Thursday, offering up Chargers receivers Travis Benjamin, Tyrell Williams and in the deepest of leagues, Dontrelle Inman. Rivers spoke highly of Williams on Wednesday, so be sure to pick him up if available in your league.

As for a few other banged up receivers, Richard thinks Buffalo's Sammy Watkins and Denver's Demaryius Thomas will both play this week.

The same goes for Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, but Richard also offered a few replacements just in case you're worried about the ankle injury Wilson suffered in Week 1 against the Dolphins.

"He's been practicing (Wilson was a full participant on Wednesday) and Pete Carroll is optimistic that he is going to play. The one thing you have to worry about is his offensive line isn't that good and he's taking on a really ticked off Rams defense that is out for blood this week," said Richard. "If you really wanted to go out on a limb, see if you can get Jameis Winston. Some guys I like almost as much as Russell Wilson is Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, Kirk Cousins and Alex Smith.

If you're in need of some help at tight end, Richard suggests Oakland's Clive Walford, Detroit's Eric Ebron, Pittsburgh's Jesse James and Minnesota's Kyle Rudolph. He wouldn't recommend a certain New England tight end, though.

"Don't go with Martellus Bennett," said Richard. "He doesn't like fantasy football."

Richard also took calls from listeners in need of some help. Listen to the full podcast below:
