Auburn Youth Football Team Retires Jersey In Honor Of Slain Officer

AUBURN (CBS) -- The Auburn Youth Football team is showing their support for Ronald Tarentino in their own special way.

During a game this weekend, the team retired jersey #74 in honor of Auburn officer Tarentino, who was shot and killed in the line of duty in May. His murderer was killed in a police stand-off.

On Thursday, Auburn and Leicester high schools honored the Tarentino family during their football game. Officer Tarentino had also served in Leicester, where his family lives.

The youth team also presented the Auburn Police Department a football helmet decorated in Tarentino's memory.
