Family 'Shocked' By Suspicious Death At NH Home

DANVILLE, N.H. (CBS/AP) — New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph Foster says a suspicious death is being investigated in the town of Danville.

The investigation started Monday, when police responded to an emergency call at a home. A deceased adult was found in the home. That person's identity has not been released.

Daniel Boucher of Haverhill told WBZ-TV the victim is his former wife.

"I got a knock on the door this morning telling me what had happened and it was being investigated," he said, adding the woman's death was particularly devastating for his son, Sam. "Shocked. We're both shocked. It was his mom. We didn't always see eye to eye. But Sam loved his mom and she loved him."

Police called the investigation into the woman's death "very active and ongoing."

Scorch marks were visible above one of the windows at the home, but it's unclear if that is connected to the woman's death.

Police spent much of the day at the home, some in protective suits.

Sam Boucher said his mother's death came as a major shock.

"She was one of the nicest people on God's green earth. That's all I can really say," he said. "This is a major shock to me. I never expected. I don't think anyone expected it. Not the neighbors, not the family. Nobody."
