Steve Burton's Wild Kingdom: WBZ Sports Anchor Wrangles Gator, Meets Other Exotic Animals

BOSTON (CBS) – By now you've probably seen the viral video clip of Steve Burton wrangling a flailing alligator, but that's not the only exotic animal he encountered last week.

Every once in a while to mix things up, the co-founders of Rainforest Reptile Shows, Joaney Gallagher and Michael Ralbovsky, stop by Sports Final for an educational segment on animals.

Burton got up close and personal with a tarantula, scorpion, a boa constrictor named Tulip and a rattlesnake.

Then came the fateful encounter with the alligator, which started flailing wildly in his arms after it was spooked by a nearby crocodile. A video of the incident has been viewed more than 1.3 million times on Facebook.

But the fun didn't stop there. Joaney and Michael then brought out a Komodo dragon, which, evidently, did not use the bathroom before coming on TV.

In his closing comments after the segment aired Sunday night, Burton said the gator run-in is something he won't ever forget.

"One thing's for sure," Burton said. "I'm never, ever going to live that alligator moment down."
