Facebook Video Of Child Left In Car Leads To Endangerment Charges

NEW BEDFORD (CBS) – A woman will be charged with reckless endangerment of a child after a Facebook video showed her going into a New Bedford convenience store and leaving a young child unattended in the car.

A man recorded video of the incident on his cell phone and posted it on social media Thursday afternoon.

Police say 20-year-old Breanna Magrath of Acushnet was seen in the video inside Gas Express on Tarklin Hill Road while her child was left alone in her running car.

The car windows were open, but Magrath left the child unattended for several minutes.

The Facebook video has been shared more than 17,000 times.

After an investigation prompted by the video, New Bedford Police said Magrath will be issued a summons and the Department of Child and Family Services will open its own investigation.

I see a stranger taking video of a child I figure he is a sex offender or pervert

  2. Aaron says:

If anyone should be arrested it should be the videotaper for reckless harassment of a mom doing nothing wrong. What actual danger–not the fake ‘you can never be too careful there are kidnappers everywhere nonsense’ was the baby in?

If the guy was a “pervert” and she left her child in a car alone, thus prey to people like him, then she is hardly “doing nothing wrong,” now is she? You fail at logic.
