Uber Driver Accused Of Stealing From Disabled Woman

MALDEN (CBS) – An Uber driver is accused of stealing from a disabled woman after she called the man for a ride.

Wilson Brea is employed as an Uber driver, but according to the Middlesex District Attorney's office, the victim did not go through the ride-hailing app to hire him.

She said he had given her rides before, so she called him directly. When Brea arrived on Monday night, the woman said he went into her Malden home to use the bathroom.

Brea then allegedly grabbed the woman's handbag and a bag of medicine. Prosecutors say the woman tried to stop Brea, but he pushed her back.

She told police she had several hundred dollars in the bag.

On Monday another Uber driver was in court, accused of exposing himself to two passengers in his vehicle in Everett. Two weeks earlier, another driver was accused of raping a teenager in Everett.

Brea was arraigned on charges of assault and battery on a person over 60 years old and larceny over $250.

Bail was set at $500 with orders he stay away from the victim and not drive for hire in Massachusetts.
