Quincy Police Lieutenant Indicted On Fraud Charges

QUINCY (CBS) -- A Quincy police lieutenant has been indicted on multiple fraud charges for allegedly collecting double pay while working for the department in 2015.

Investigators say Thomas Corliss, 51, defrauded the Quincy Police Department of more than $10,000 by illegally collecting pay for working multiple details or regular shifts that overlapped. Corliss also allegedly collected his regular pay while on vacation.

A federal grand jury indicted Corliss on 12 counts of mail fraud and one count of fraud involving federal funds.

Corliss could face up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
