7-Year-Old Boy Found Walking To Walmart At 4 am To Buy Matchbox Cars

EPPING, N.H. (AP) — A 7-year-old New Hampshire boy was returned to his family after police found him wandering alone along state Route 101 before sunrise earlier this week.

The Fremont boy told Officer Greg Huard that it wasn't the first time he sneaked out of the house when he found him near Exit 6 just after 4 a.m. Wednesday. Police say the boy first tried to run, but stopped after he was assured that he wasn't in trouble.

The boy told Huard he was walking to a nearby Walmart to buy Matchbox cars, something he's done before while his parents were sleeping.

Huard drove the boy home and spoke to his parents, who said they had no idea their son had been sneaking out at night.
