Never Mind: Patriots Trade Bryan Stork To Redskins For Conditional Draft Pick

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Patriots did not cut center Bryan Stork, after all. The NFL Network's Ian Rapoport tweeted Wednesday afternoon that the Patriots instead have traded the third-year center to the Washington Redskins for a conditional draft pick.

ESPN's Mike Reiss added that Stork was informed of the Patriots' intention to release him before the team ultimately made the trade. The Boston Herald's Jeff Howe then provided further context, explaining how the Redskins made the trade happen before Stork's release became official.

Stork fills a pressing need at center for the Redskins, while the Patriots can never have too many draft picks. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the pick in question heading to the Patriots is a conditional seventh-round pick.
