Reports Of Stroller, Baby Carrier Injuries On The Rise

BOSTON (CBS) - There are more and more reports of children being injured in strollers and baby carriers. In fact, dozens of children are hurt every day in equipment that is designed to keep them safe.

You may think your baby is safe and secure strapped into their stroller, but 50 kids a day are ending up in emergency rooms with stroller or baby carrier related injuries. And about half have suffered a concussion or brain trauma. Most injuries occur when a child falls out or when a stroller tips over.

The best ways to protect your children are to make sure they're properly strapped in, don't use stroller handles to hold your purse or bags, and make sure the equipment is appropriate for your child's size and age.
