Quincy Father, Son Detain Man Attempting To Break Into Their Car

QUINCY (CBS) - Houghs Neck in Quincy is usually a pretty quiet place. Recently however, Jeff Crispo's wife looked out the window to find a man breaking into her son's car.

"She noticed someone was in his car so she went to his room and goes 'Jeff who's in your car?' He responded 'Nobody, nobody's in there,'" the elder Jeff Crispo recalled. "I'm like 'Well, someone's in your car.'"

So he and his son took action, going outside and detaining the suspect - later identified as 22-year-old Dana Durfee.

Jeff's wife told the Quincy Police dispatcher that her husband and son had the suspect detained.

"That's where we caught him, right in the driveway over there and he says to me 'what are you going to do? You going to beat me up or you going to arrest me?' And I said 'both if you try to move.'"

Durfee didn't bother to fight back, in fact, he even handed over his driver's license.

It was one o'clock in the morning. Jeff and 27-year-old son did not have enough time to get dressed before confronting the suspect.

"I'm in my underwear and I go running downstairs and come out the door, my son comes right behind me," said Jeff, the father.

After his arrest, Durfee took a rather happy mugshot, smiling for the camera.
