Accused Fare Evader Pulls Knife On MBTA Conductor, Police Say

READVILLE (CBS) -- A Sharon woman was arrested after she allegedly attacked an MBTA commuter rail conductor who confronted her after she refused to pay a fare.

Police say 25-year-old Emma Bloom kicked, punched and bit the conductor on a train Monday night after he told her she would have to pay her fare or leave the train. Bloom then allegedly pulled a knife on the conductor and threatened to stab him.

She was arrested at the MBTA's Readville Commuter Station and is now facing multiple assault charges.

This is not Bloom's first encounter with police.

In 2015, she was arrested after leading officers on a car chase in Milford.

Bloom admitted to police at the time that she had been smoking pot and huffing computer keyboard cleaner before driving. Bloom was also involved in a previous incident in Medfield where she allegedly tried to run over an officer.
