Felger: Reporters Waste Rare Tom Brady Availability With Useless Questions

BOSTON (CBS) -- It's a rare thing these days for Tom Brady to make himself available to the media, yet the quarterback spoke after practice on Sunday in Foxboro.

Michael Felger wasn't there, but he read the transcript of the media session.

Michael Felger wasn't impressed by the line of questioning.

"First question yesterday: 'how was the heat?'" Felger read from the transcript. "OK, so you only have him for three or four minutes, and you're only going to get seven or eight or nine questions, so there was one. You've already burned one; how's the heat? Second question: 'How does working out in this heat help with your conditioning?' How does working out in the heat help with your conditioning? So we didn't only get one question on the heat -- we got a follow-up on the heat! A follow-up on the heat! Two heat questions!"

It continued.

"Third question: 'Do you feel like the dog days of camp are starting to set in a bit?' Like ... what are we doing? What are we doing? We're going to sit here and talk to Brady about the weather," Felger remarked. "He has made himself available TWICE in six months, the biggest story in the history of Boston sports, and the first three questions out of nine are about the WEATHER!"

Felger, as you can see below, was quite upset.

Once the heat portion of the interview was concluded, the media moved on to ask Brady about ... James Develin.

"Fourth question, here's a good one! Here's the fourth one, you ready? WE'VE ONLY GOTTEN HIM TWICE IN SIX MONTHS! Fourth question: 'Is it good to have James Develin back out on the field?' The fullback! Let's ask him about the fullback!" Felger said, before continuing. "Fifth question: 'Were there times you missed James Develin last year in short yardage?' A follow-up on James Develin! It wasn't enough to ask him one question about the nonsense fullback, the useless fullback; they had to ask a follow-up with another.

"So the first five questions, you've only been able to ask him 10 all offseason. He's only been asked 10 questions. Five of them are on the weather and the fullback," Felger screamed. "Oh my God, that's so horrible."

An important note from Felger: "I don't want to get on the guys that cover the team, because I was once in that spot, and Lord knows if I was there, I'd still be asking lame questions too. Like I used to. This is just a general comment."
