Victim Uses Attackers' Knife As Defense During Armed Robbery

MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) – Police say a New Hampshire man wrestled a knife away from two attackers and used it against them during a robbery inside a parking garage.

Manchester Police say just before 1 a.m. Saturday morning a 44-year-old man was robbed by two suspects, later identified as James Dickson and Jonathan Vertigans.

The victim said the two men fought him for his money inside the Victory Parking Garage on Vine Street.

During a struggle, the victim wrestled a knife away from the suspects and stabbed them both before he was knocked unconscious.

Vertigans suffered serious injuries and left a blood trail for over a block, leading police to him. He was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

Dickson and the victim were both treated and released at Elliot Hospital.

Both Dickson and Vertigans have been charged with robbery and falsifying physical evidence.
