Marblehead's Kayla Harrison Wins Second-Straight Olympic Judo Gold

RIO DE JANEIRO (CBS) – There's just no stopping Kayla Harrison.

In London, the Marblehead resident was the first American ever to capture Olympic gold in Judo. Four years later in Rio, she's a champion again.

It comes as no surprise to her boxing trainer, Tommy McInerney. The owner of fitBOX in Dedham said he fist-pumped when he saw her victory on TV.

"All she knows is to win, win, win," he told WBZ NewsRadio 1030. "I'd describe her as a beast to tell you the truth."

McInerney said Harrison started training for her second gold medal soon after she won her first one.

"Going in every day after day, working through the bruises and the pain," he said. "I just have to say it's a complete different level and also that's why it made her the best, separates her from everyone else."
