Tim Tebow Now Eyeing Career In Major League Baseball

BOSTON (CBS) -- With his football career over, Tim Tebow is crossing over the sports nexus.

The former quarterback and current ESPN analyst is now setting his sights on the baseball diamond, hoping to begin a professional career in a sport he hasn't played on a full-time basis since 2005.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, everyone's favorite backup quarterback is looking to become a professional outfielder and will hold a workout at the end of the month for any Major League team that is willing to give him a shot. Tebow has been training on the west coast for the past year, hoping to find the magic he had in high school when he was an All-State player for Nease High School in Florida.

The 29-year-old Tebow, who spent a training camp with the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles after playing for the Denver Broncos and New York Jets, will continue to appear on ESPN while as he looks to fulfill his Major League dream.

Tebow won a pair of National Championships under center for Florida and was drafted 25th overall by the Denver Broncos in 2010. He played in 21 games for the Broncos, leading them to the playoffs and a Wild Card round win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2011 before getting crushed by the Patriots. He spent one unsuccessful season with the New York Jets, then was released by the Patriots at the end of training camp the following season. He joined the Philadelphia Eagles for training camp in 2015, but was cut before the season.

Tebow quickly found a new home on TV as an analyst, but now he's determined to quench his thirst for competitive sport once again.
