Report: Patriots' Rob Ninkovich Scheduled For MRI On Triceps Injury

BOSTON (CBS) -- Julian Edelman's foot injury got most of the attention during Tuesday's joint practice between the Patriots and Saints at Gillette Stadium. But the receiver wasn't the only Patriot to walk off the field before the session was over.

Linebacker Rob Ninkovich had to leave the field after about 45 minutes with a triceps injury, and will reportedly undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the ailment.

This season will be Ninkovich's 11th in the NFL and seventh with the Patriots. He's been a key part of the Patriots' defensive line, recording 37 sacks in the last five seasons.

If the 32-year-old is out for any extended time, more playing time will likely be in the gameplan for linemen Jabaal Sheard, Trey Flowers, Geneo Grissom and newcomer Chris Long.
