WOBURN (CBS) - The family of a Woburn woman is relieved she is safe after a metal pole came shooting through her SUV's windshield.

Luz Sawyer was driving the SUV when it crashed into parked cars and a fence on Locust Street in Woburn, sending a fence pole into her car. Witnesses say the pole came within six inches of Sawyer's face.

"Thank God she's here," Sawyer's husband Stephen Sawyer said.

Sawyer said the pole grazed his wife's elbow but she was otherwise unhurt. She was brought to the hospital and told to stay overnight as a precaution.

Sawyer said his wife did not know why she crashed when he saw her at the hospital.
