Patriots Working With Gronkowski On Contract, But New Deal 'Not Imminent'

BOSTON (CBS) -- When Rob Gronkowski's agent Drew Rosenhaus was spotted at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, it raised some eyebrows. Now it's confirmed that Drew and brother Jason were in town to negotiate for their biggest client.

According to the NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, a source told him that the Rosenhaus brothers are currently working with the Patriots on a new deal for Gronkowski, who is due just $6,618,750 in salary and bonuses in 2016 and an average of $10 million over the following three seasons.

Garafolo added that a deal is "not imminent." But add Gronkowski to the list of high-profile Patriots players who could be in line for big contract extensions in the near future, along with defensive mainstays Malcolm Butler, Jamie Collins, and Dont'a Hightower.

Rosenhaus also represents Patriots defensive end Jabaal Sheard, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent after the 2016 season.
