'Voice Of The MBTA' Retiring After More Than 20 Years
BOSTON (CBS) -- You have heard his voice on MBTA buses and trains for years and years.
For two and a half decades, Frank Oglesby has been the voice of the T--letting people know where they are and where they're going. When you're riding on Boston's public transit and you hear "Next stop Wonderland," that's him.
Now, at age 54, he's retiring at the end of the week.
"I'm going to miss it a lot," said Oglesby. "It's a lot of fun to do. The people that I work with are great."
Oglesby began his job voicing over MBTA training videos--but soon, his voice was needed all over the place.
"The new Red Line trains came that had an audio component that would allow us to have automated announcements so that the motormen would no longer have to make the announcements," Oglesby said.
