Patriots To Celebrate 15th Anniversary Of First Super Bowl-Winning Team All Season Long

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Patriots are historically one of the most successful franchises in NFL history, having won four Super Bowls and playing in a total of eight. But it all began with a Cinderella story back in 2001.

To celebrate those beginnings, the Patriots will be commemorating the 2001 Super Bowl-winning team throughout the season.

It will begin this week, with video vignettes posted on the team's Twitter and Facebook accounts.

On Patriots All-Access, which airs on WBZ-TV, fans can see "Where Are They Now?" segments on key contributors like Richard Seymour and Lawyer Milloy, as well as "Remember When" videos of the 13 best memories of the 2001 season.

Patriots Football Weekly, the team's official newspaper, will feature poster images throughout the season featuring key plays and players from the '01 season.

And The Hall at Patriots Place will feature an entire exhibit celebrating the 2001 season, featuring "artifacts and images" from the '01 season. That exhibit will open in the fall.

It will all culminate with a halftime celebration during the game on Dec. 4 against the Los Angeles Rams.

"The Super Bowl XXXVI win over the Rams was the first championship for our team and will always hold a very special place in our hearts," Robert Kraft said as part of the announcement. "The victory made everyone that ever wore a Patriots uniform or rooted for the Patriots on the bleachers at Foxboro Stadium feel proud to be a fan. I know I am looking forward to reliving some of those great memories throughout the 2016 season."
