Study: IVF Patients At No Greater Risk Of Breast Cancer

BOSTON (CBS) - Good news for women who have undergone in vitro fertilization.

Many women undergoing fertility treatments worry that hormonal manipulation might raise their risk of breast cancer, but a new study found that's not the case at all.

Researchers followed about 25,000 women for more than two decades and found breast cancer rates were not any higher in women who underwent IVF than those who had other fertility treatments or women in the general population.,

In fact, women who had seven or more IVF cycles had a much lower risk of breast cancer than those who had just one or two rounds of treatment.
