Man Accused Of Stabbing Worcester Officer In Face Held Without Bail

WORCESTER (CBS) -- A man police say stabbed a Worcester officer in the face with a steak knife over the weekend was arraigned Monday.

Patxie Delorbe, 30, of Worcester, pleaded not guilty to assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault with intent to murder, and two counts of assault and battery on a police officer, as well as violating an abuse-prevention order and resisting arrest.

He was ordered held without bail.

According to the Worcester County District Attorney's office, police were called to a Grand Street location early Sunday morning after reports that a man was making threats and violating a restraining order.

They said Delorbe was threatening his ex-girlfriend, and was being combative toward officers, resisting when they moved in to arrest him.

The Worcester DA's office said Delorbe slashed one of the officers in the face as they subdued him with a Taser.

The officer was taken to a local hospital, where he received stitches.

Delorbe will be back in court July 27 for a dangerousness hearing. The judge will also consider revoking Delorbe's bail on another open case on that date.
