What You Need To Know About Tom Brady's 4-Game Suspenion
BOSTON (CBS) -- It's official: Tom Brady will be sitting out the first four games next season.
The Patriots will be without their star quarterback after he dropped his DeflateGate battle on Friday, meaning Jimmy Garoppolo will likely be under center for the first month of the 2016 season. The NFLPA will continue to fight Roger Goodell's ruling, but it looks like the DeflateGate saga has come to an end.
Here's what you need to know about Brady's four-game ban:
- The suspension is without pay, and will begin at 4pm on Saturday, September 3.
- Brady cannot practice with the team or have any contact with the team during his suspension.
- Brady will be able to participate in training camp and New England's four preseason games.
- In restructuring his deal in April, Brady's salary losses go from $2.11 million to $235,941 during his four-game suspension.
- Brady will miss the following games: Week 1 @ Arizona; Week 2 vs. Miami; Week 3 vs. Houston; Week 4 vs. Buffalo.
- Brady will be eligible to return to the New England active roster on Monday, October 3. His first game back will be against the Browns in Cleveland.
